So, we have the mechanical skills and tools, and now want to try our hand at something a bit bigger that can fit our adult size (son is nearly taller than me) and handle our terrain.Ĭlick to expand.I will disagree with that, ERW common carbon steel that you can buy is not heat treated. Problem is, my son has outgrown the frame and our property is bumpy so it beats you up at any fun speeds. We converted it to a live axle, added an engine and torque converter, and changed the hub brake to a hydraulic disc system. Our first build was just a refurb of a kart given to use. Any suggestions on kits or companies that offer such "build-your-own" kits? We've lots of engines here to choose from, so just need a frame with suspension. We are good with welding and fabrication, but this being a bonding project we were hoping to shorten the build time and design pitfall frustrations with a pre-fab kit that is pre-cut and that only needs assembly (welding prefered). My son and I are onto our second go-kart build and are looking for suggestions on a build kit for a two-seater adult-sized go-kart with front and back suspension.
